It’s my favourite time of year – my tent has been aired, my rucksack is packed with the essentials with also the additional must haves – baby wipes, head torch (purely comical when drunk and acts a temp strobe light), water, batiste dry shampoo and of course BEER!
It is 2 more sleeps before the Sidesixx crew descend on the Download festival grounds and we couldn’t be more excited even though the news of rain on the Friday and Saturday is not something that I want to hear.
I myself have been going to Download since 2009 and it has become one of my top 3 festivals to go to each year.
Along with the 1st class organisation of the festival, I find the set up and the crowd to be second to none. Last year topped my expectations with AC/DC taking over the whole festival to headline the Friday evening – what a night! It felt like the whole world was watching them that night.
I was hoping that this year’s line up would feature a certain ‘Van Halen’ but I remain hopeful for next year. Also Steel Panther not making an appearance has left me disappointed but again I remain hopefully for next year with both bands either working on or completing new albums.
Having said that the bookers did not let the side down with a wide range of bands to keep us occupied all weekend. GWAR and Twisted Sister being the highlight for me but also many more will haven to be taken in. I am really going to need 3 of me to cover everything this year!
