Queen will be named BMI Icons at the annual London Awards which will take place on Tuesday, October 4 at London’s Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane.

BMI honors songwriters who have had “a unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers” as Icons.

Queen’s Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon join a list of past honorees that includes 2010 recipient Don Black, Van Morrison, Donovan, the Bee Gees, James Brown and Willie Nelson to name a few.

Weak as a kitten was pretty much how I would of described myself after the Sonisphere weekend but no rest for the wicked as it was time to pick myself back up and get ready to see a once in a lifetime show – The Foo Fighters at the Roundhouse, Camden.

When this gig was announced I was so excited – after missing them perform at Oxegen I was gutted, but thankfully this gig saved me from flying all over the place to see them.

They were hands down the highlight act of this year’s iTunes festival.
