James Hetfield Inducted into the Downey High School Hall of Fame

James Hetfield was inducted into the Downey High School 2011 Hall Of Fame this past Friday, May 27.

He received a special induction for attending Downey High in Downey, California his freshman and sophomore years.

The metal legend went onto say about his time in the High School – “The one thing that comes to mind is extreme gratitude to be honored here at the school that I was hiding in for most of the time I was here”.

James Hetfield attends ‘Absent’ screening

James Hetfield and filmmaker Justin Hunt were at the San Rafael California Film Institute in San Rafael, California to present and discuss the award-winning documentary “Absent”.

The documentary explores the worldwide crisis of absent and disengaged fathers and the negative impact that the “father wound” makes on society.

James Hetfield opens up in documentary

James Hetfield is set to join filmmaker Justin Hunt at the at the San Rafael California Film Institute in San Rafael, California on Thursday, March 3 in presenting and discussing the award-winning documentary “Absent”.

This documentary explores the worldwide crisis of absent and disengaged fathers and the negative impact that the “father wound” makes on society.

In the film, Hunt had Hetfield recite the lyrics to some of his most personal songs, including “Dyers Eve” and “Where The Wild Things Are”.
