It is what we have all been waiting for – more news from the Download 2012 camp and it is good news all the way!

The Download Festival is a three day rock music festival held annually at Donington Park, England (which hosted Monsters of Rock between 1980 and 1996, and 2002′s Ozzfest).

This will be Metallica’s eighth visit to Donnington in their career, having played both Monsters of Rock and Download Festivals – including their first Monsters of Rock festival in 1985 up through their most recent Download appearance in 2006, where they headlined.

So the second announcement has been made for Download 2012 and I think it is the news that everyone was hoping to hear – the original line-up of Black Sabbath – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Ioomi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward will headline a night at the festival.

Not only confirmed that they are to reform and will be embarking on a world tour next year – the band are going to release a new album.

With both Metallica and Black Sabbath announced it seems that Download is the festival to beat for the line-up in 2012.

It’s my favourite time of year – my tent has been aired, my rucksack is packed with the essentials with also the additional must haves – baby wipes, head torch (purely comical when drunk and acts a temp strobe light), water, batiste dry shampoo and of course BEER!

It is 2 more sleeps before the Sidesixx crew descend on the Download festival grounds and we couldn’t be more excited even though the news of rain on the Friday and Saturday is not something that I want to hear.

I myself have been going to Download since 2009 and it has become one of my top 3 festivals to go to each year.

Def Leppard have been added as the 3rd headline act for this years Download.

The band make a return to Donnington since they closed the festival in 2009.
