Soundgarden Dublin Date for European Tour

This is the best news that could of come in on a Monday (that and a new episode of Game of Thrones later this evening!) but Soundgarden have announced dates in Ireland and the UK for this September.

Any regular reader of the site will be aware of my OBSESSION with Soundgarden and how happy I was to finally get to see them at Download Festival and also at Hard Rock Calling in London.

The band have added four shows in the UK & Ireland to their September European tour.

Architects launch an Indiegogo campaign for their forthcoming film 100 Days

Following on from an incredible year, Brighton 4 piece ARCHITECTS can now announce they have launched an INDIEGOGO campaign for the funding of their very first film, ‘100 Days’.

Recorded by director and band friend Tom Welsh, the film charts the bands incredible journey across their ‘Almost World Tour’ of 2012, which say them travel over 20,000 miles, playing 75 shows in 25 countries over 4 continents.

Guitarist Tom (Searle) explains a bit more about the film: “We’re really excited to share the experience we had on our world tour. The whole thing was shaped by everyone who came to the shows and they changed the way we perceive this band. The world of crowdfunding is an unknown one to all of us but we’re excited to see what we achieve between us and our fans. Because they’re the reason our band continues to exist and progress. “

Slipknot Confirmed As Third Headline For Download Festival 2013

With the announcements of Iron Maiden and Rammstein for Download Festival 2013, the rumour mill went into overdrive as to who would be the third announcement.

Today Andy Copping and the Download office have announced that Slipknot will be headlining the Friday of the festival.

The eight-piece – arguably alongside Rammstein, being one of the “last” great festival headliner bands to emerge from metal – will make their first appearance at Donington Park since their 2009 headline spot.

The talented ‘William Control’ talks performing and writing with us at Download Festival

William Control is an American electronic music artist that started in 2008, and the side project of Aiden’s William Francis.

Wil Francis formed William Control because he was interested in making music that didn’t match the style of his other band, Aiden.

He was signed to Victory Records and has released two albums (Hate Culture and Noir), and a EP (Novus Ordo Seclorum).
