30 Seconds to Mars, Gaslight Anthem and more announced for Download 2013

Motörhead, 30 Seconds to Mars and Queens of the Stone Age were a few of the bands added to the Download 2013 line up.

Organisers announced the new additions last night after 9pm, following the announcement of the three headliners – Iron Maiden, Slipknot and Rammstein – in September.

Other acts confirmed yesterday included Gaslight Anthem, HIM, Alice In Chains and A Day To Remember.

Slipknot Confirmed As Third Headline For Download Festival 2013

With the announcements of Iron Maiden and Rammstein for Download Festival 2013, the rumour mill went into overdrive as to who would be the third announcement.

Today Andy Copping and the Download office have announced that Slipknot will be headlining the Friday of the festival.

The eight-piece – arguably alongside Rammstein, being one of the “last” great festival headliner bands to emerge from metal – will make their first appearance at Donington Park since their 2009 headline spot.

Iron Maiden and Rammstein Confirmed for Download Festival 2013

Yesterday, Iron Maiden were announced that they will headline Download Festival on Saturday 15 June 2013.

Download celebrated its 10th anniversary this year with a sell out event headlined by The Prodigy, Metallica and Black Sabbath.

Maiden will be bringing their triumphant “Maiden England” tour to Donington Park on the 25th Anniversary of their first headline performance at the legendary home of rock in 1988 when an astounding 107,000 fans turned out to see their spectacular “Seventh Son” show, still the highest ever attendance there.

Alice Cooper announces his No More Mr Nice Guy tour line up

Alice Cooper has announced his band line-up for his 2012 “No More Mr Nice Guy” tour, with guitarist Ryan Roxie back with the band after several years absence.

Ryan joins an extraordinary team. Longtime Alice bassist Chuck Garric, jaw-dropping drummer Glen Sobel and guitarists Tommy Henriksen and Orianthi make up one of the most exciting rock and roll bands in the world today.

“It’s great to bring Ryan back into the fold,” says Alice, “This band just destroys on stage, and with Ryan back on board, he will only kick things into a higher gear. Ryan Roxie is a fan favorite. He plays like a tornado, and we can’t wait to turn him loose and let him tear into this tour.”

Primal Rock Rebellion, the project featuring Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith and former SiKth frontman Mikee Goodman, have released the first video from their debut album, ‘Awoken Broken’.

‘No Place Like Home’ is taken from Primal Rock Rebellion’s debut album, ‘Awoken Broken’, out February 27 via Spinefarm.

As Adrian Smith has accomplished every goal a musician could ever dream of, but in this new project, Smith found a new found sense of revitalization.
