Paul McCartney and Reunited Nirvana Perform New Song in New York

Last night, as advertised, Paul McCartney was joined onstage at the 12-12-12 benefit concert by the surviving members of grunge giants Nirvana — Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and live guitarist Pat Smear.

Instead of Sir Paul leading the band through a medley of Bleach tunes, McCartney donned a cigar box guitar for a new song called “Cut Me Some Slack.” You can watch footage of the performance below.

“Recently some guys asked me to jam with them,” McCartney said, before being joined by Grohl and crew. “So I showed up like you do, ready to jam. And in the middle of it these guys kept saying, ‘We haven’t played together for years.’ Then it finally dropped… I finally understood I was in the middle of a Nirvana reunion.”

Foo Fighters – Hot Buns video announces new tour dates

Just when I thought the Foo Fighters couldn’t get any funnier – they release a new video to highlight the bands new tour dates.

The guys are known for not taking themselves seriously during videos and it has become one of their trade marks.

A link to ‘Hot Buns’ was posted on the bands Facebook page with no more details of what the video contained.

Foo Fighters – Garage Tour Documentary

A handful of very lucky US garage-owners won the chance to host Foo Fighters at their very own homes for a one-off series of live concerts as part of a Blackberry-sponsored contest that ran back in April.

Footage from the ‘Garage Tour’ has now been made into a 40 minute documentary that charts the Foos’ garage-to-garage charge across North America.

The band played the intimate gigs to competition winners and 50 of their friends across the US in April.

Foo Fighters documentary set to release on DVD

The Foo Fighters will release their feature-length documentary Back and Forth on June 6 as a digital iTunes release and a DVD and Blu-ray release on June 13.

The film, directed by Academy Award-winner James Moll, opened on April 5 in select US theaters, April 7 in the UK.

The documentary features details of their formation, charting their rise through the rock ‘n’ roll ranks to become one of the world’s greatest live bands and all the tests and turmoil in between spanning the band’s 16-year career. The film debuted at Austin’s South by Southwest Festival this year.

Foo Fighters – Back and Forth

Back and Forth is a documentary about one of the biggest bands in the world. Going through details of their formation, charting their rise through the rock ‘n’ roll ranks to become one of the world’s greatest live bands and all the tests and turmoil in between.

The line-up has changed considerably over the past 16 years they have been together and the group have decided to unveil the truth behind the fall outs in the new documentary.

No subjects were off limits during the recording, although Grohl spoke about how it was still hard to speak about the departure of the band’s first drummer William Goldsmith. “That’s a touchy subject, one that we’d never really talked about before,” Grohl admits.
