Red Hot Chili Peppers review, Croke Park, Dublin

Anyone that has ever read reviews from this site will know that I more than likely never give a bad review to any band as I like to support that artists that I love. I spend alot of my time and money following the ones that I am interested in but tonight I can do nothing to avoid giving a bad review to the Red Hot Chili Peppers in Croke Park.

I can’t stress to you how much it hurts me to give this band a bad review – I am truly devastated to have to give this kind of review to the RHCP’s but after tonight I feel that there is no other choice!

When this gig was announced I was over the moon at the chance to see the Chili Peppers in Croke Park taking that it is such a historical and memorable musical venue. I had perviously seen them each time they had played Ireland since the release of ‘Californication’ and always ranked them as one of the most amazing live bands on the planet.

All The Young – Another Miracle – Video Premiere

Renowned for their incendiary live shows following dates with Morrissey, Kaiser Chiefs, The Courteneers, The Wombats, Hard-Fi and The Pigeon Detectives, Stoke-on-Trent quintet, All The Young follow their recent sold-out London show at the 100 Club with a full UK tour that continues to the end of the month and new single ‘Another Miracle’ on July 30th.

In addition to their own headline shows, All The Young will also support The Wombats and The Enemy at large shows next month. The band will play further festivals in mainland Europe throughout the summer, including the Southside and Hurricane Festivals in Germany as well as the Blue Balls Festival in Switzerland

Produced by GGGarth Richardson (Biffy Clyro, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and mixed by Rich Costey (Muse, My Chemical Romance), there’s a strident sense of defiance and flair throughout their new album ‘Welcome Home’, the kind of fist-pumping fodder that festival crowds were custom-built for.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – The O2 Dublin

It was more of the most high anticipated gigs of the year – it sold out within minutes and tickets were being sold for up to twice the original selling price. Friday seen the Red Hot Chili Peppers roll into town to play at the O2, Dublin.

It has been a good few years since I last seen the Chili Peppers live. They seemed to of had a love affair with Ireland for a few years making appearances at Slane, Lansdowne Road (now known as the Aviva) and also a huge concert at the Phoenix Park.

Despite approaching their 50th birthdays, the surviving founders of California’s premier rock outfit still know how to bring the house down. Support on the night came from Fool’s Gold from Los Angeles but unfortunately due to the match traffic on the way into town – I missed the majority of them. From reports I was told that they were really good and it is a pity I missed the chance to see them.
