Freddie Mercury died on this day (24 November) in 1991 and although his style has been often imitated – none have ever come close to touching this mans talent.

He had last performed, thin, pale and shorn of his moustache, in the video for the Queen song “These Are the Days of Our Lives”, in May of 1991.

He then retreated to his Kensington home and the day before he died, he issued a press release in which he confirmed that he was suffering from Aids. He was 45 at the time of his death.
