The View announce a three-date Irish tour in Belfast, Cork and Dublin

With the release of their new album on July 6th, The View announce a three-date Irish tour in Belfast, Cork and Dublin, this September.

‘Cheeky For A Reason’ will be released by the bands new label Cooking Vinyl on July 6th and preceded by a single “How Long” which you can hear below.

The album is the band’s fourth, after the Mercury-nominated #1 debut ‘Hats Off To The Buskers’, the Top 10 follow-up ‘Which Bitch’ and 2011’s Top 20 ‘Bread & Circuses’, and is currently being recorded at Liverpool’s Motor Museum Studios with producer Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys, Razorlight, Foals). Early track titles that are vying for inclusion on the album include ’Bunker’, ‘The Clock Has No Sympathy’,’ Anfield Row’ ‘How Long’ and ‘AB’.

‘The View’ available for streaming

The entire “The View” song — taken from the forthcoming musical collaboration between Lou Reed and METALLICA, “Lulu” — can be streamed in the YouTube clip below.

The musical project between Reed and Metallica will be released on November 1 in North America via Warner Bros. Records and one day earlier (October 31) in the rest of the world through Universal Music.

The songs are inspired by German expressionist Frank Wedekind’s early 20th century plays “Earth Spirit” and “Pandora’s Box”, and were a rewrite of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven”, which emerged as a graphic novel on Fantagraphics Press.

UK Record Store Day – April 16 2011

Record Store Day is a celebration of independent record stores and the way they contribute to music, with this day seeing them secure hundreds of exclusive items from record labels which are only available through participating stores.

It is a global event which sees over a thousand record stores taking part across 18 countries and four continents.

More than 150 UK indie record stores took part in last year’s event and over 180 are signed up for this year. This year’s Record store Day takes place on Saturday 16th April.
